Here you will find beautiful, hand dyed yarn in colors inspired by my beloved childhood novels. I find inspiration in the gorgeous illustrations of Pauline Baynes, Beatrix Potter and Anne and Janet Grahame Johnstone
All colors are thoughtfully created with your finished project in mind. I strive to create classic colors that you will simply fall in love with and that will inspire your next project.

Hullo! My name is Liesl, and I am the dyer behind LilyRose Dyeworks!
My love of all things textile began as a child. My Mom was an avid crafter, and growing up I spent many happy hours in her sewing room playing with scraps of fabric and yarn. As I grew older, she taught me to knit, and I have never looked back! There is almost never a time when I don’t have a knitting project on the needles, or a project bag with beautiful yarn ready to pick up and take with me on a journey.
It would be easy to say that dying yarn was a natural progression, but to be honest, I never really thought it was something I would be able to do. I had a demanding job, with no creative outlet, and had started working at the lovely yarn shop Natural Yarns, as a way to feed my soul! But, 2020 happened, and the world, and many lives changed. I lost my demanding job, I found myself with time on my hands, and a desire to do something different. I had dabbled in dying – a small skein of pink yarn needed to complement a shawl, a sock that needed a pop of colour for a heel, and some skeins for a friends shop – and so, with the encouragement of friends and family, took a leap of faith and bought 60 skeins of undyed yarn. The rest, as they say, is history.
